9 games at Wembley (4 as a player, 5 as a manager); Mikel has won them all.

He basically owns the stadium. Probably just as well.
"Plenty of strikers can score goals," he said, gesturing to the famous old stands casting shadows around us.

"But a lot have found it difficult wearing the number 9 shirt for The Arsenal."

We're favourites this time, so I gather.

        So that's that then

Although not as bad as our record in Europe, which has been absolute litter for a club of our stature.
I seriously hope we beat those cheating kyunts at Wembley. #Keegan.

Roughly the same, i think. 2 wins from 8 finals.

What is it in Europe? About the same, isnt it?

              Two from seven.

Ganpati willing, they'll have only come to watch the Arsenal.

Yes, but '87, against a far, far richer team that had recently won loads when we'd won nothing was not only amazing of itself, but the start of a truly amazing period in our history.

Mine was just before my 9th birthday when we lost to the Hammers. Yet of the two of us, you're the reverse jinxing oh he of little faith.

That must have been a real buzz at the final whistle.

Btw, can you remember if you were down-heartened when Rush scored for them? The 2025/6 Peter model would have got his phone out* and still been posting "But Liverpool never lose when Rush scores" even after our second, even in injury time, probably even after the final whistle.

Ah, the innocence of youth, eh?

*Well, you'd have cut your scarf in two and used semaphore back then but you take my point.

Honestly...? I was convinced we were going to win. And i had a dream about it the night before. I never remember my dreams. I knew of the whole Ian Rush thing but when you are 15 you dont give a **** about that. I felt we had them

Anfield 89. Again, 100% convinced. Just this feeling. I was telling everyone we'd do it and was called crazy.

Every year we have won the league in my lifetime I have said at the start of the season that we could win it. And the only years where I said that and was wrong were 1999 and 2003.

I know when we are good enough. It just hasn't come up that often in the last couple of decades

Two years ago we were good enough (aftr a slow start) but City were ever so slightly better.

This season.... well, in any other year we wouldn't win it. But this year, we really, really should.

And yes, i was off my head. The terrace was going crazy, grown men crying. You always remember your first trophy.

I was there the following year for that ****ing awful day against Luton. Poor old Gus
