  • Tottenham fans wanting to lose...

If in a complete make believe, totally unrealistic situation of Spurs ever being on the charge to win the league, would you want us to lose to whoever is the nearest team to them?

I just can't get over how small time their fans are that I've seen loads of posts on social from them about how they should have thrown the game.

I?m fairly sure, if the roles were reversed, there would be no shortage of posts from our side along similar lines. Fans innit

Different matter if it's sixty-odd years since your last title.
"Plenty of strikers can score goals," he said, gesturing to the famous old stands casting shadows around us.

"But a lot have found it difficult wearing the number 9 shirt for The Arsenal."

Again, it's a different matter entirely if it's sixty-odd years since your last league title.

If there was literally nothing riding on the game for us, and winning it would hand them the title, I would happily lose.

What I wouldn't do is go in the ground and cheer against us.

More of an extreme situation. I think if the season is done and there's nothing riding on our game other than guaranteeing Spuds don't win the league if we lose, I'd take the loss as well.

But there's still a long way to go and they are wanting to lose... Could never be me!

I get you. I wouldn't have wanted to lose on Sunday. And even if I could see the humour in losing, it doesn't mean I would enjoy it.

And it is different for them. We are going to win the league eventually, it is unavoidable. They have barely had a sniff of a title in my entire lifetime. Them winning the league would be horrible to watch. And, if avoided once, would probably never happen

Let's put it all in a more realistic scenario...

Dead rubber game for us, maybe it makes the difference between 3rd and 4th. Tottenham will be relegated if the team we're playing against beat us.

Do you still want Arsenal to win that game?

I don't give a **** about the difference between 3rd and 4th. So yes, I'll take the Spurs relegation. It is actually in our interests as we wont have to play them the following season. That is two games I wouldn't mind avoiding.

Sadly, the biggest chance of them going down was last season. As **** as they are, I cant see them being anywhere near as that **** in the foreseeable.

I wouldnt mind The Arsenal taking one for the good of the league, in your scenario, however.
Other clubs never came into my thoughts once I knew Arsenal wanted to sign me.

As long as they have their eye constantly on what we're doing they won't go anywhere. It does worry me that they'll eventually realise this.
