His goal was nice, wasn't it? The rest of his performance was a complete disaster, though I genuinley feel so bad for him... John Cross has been absolutely scathing about him in his arcticle this morning. I ususally don't like Cross but I can't really argue with what he is saying here.

ARSENAL 3-2 KAIRAT: Viktor Gyokeres scores but wastes numerous chances against the Gunners' Kazakh opponents on a night which showed his limitations in brutal fashion

That's funny, Rich, because I genuinely feel sorry for you, not Gyok

I'm not going to waste time reading all of that but the gist seems to be that Havertz is better than Gyokeres.

Agreed. Hands down. Not even close.

He's also a mile better than Gabriel Jesus. Are we going to **** on him as well? Or just Vik?

John Cross is a prick. That isnt wholly relevant but I felt it needed saying.

The quality of football journalism these days is, on the whole, shocking. I have though, for years said John Cross is an utter moron. Up there with Charlie Wyatt.

As some of us said many times, Gyok was bought to replace Jesus, not Havertz.

He provides depth and a different alternative up front. And we've seen more than enough good moments from him to be patient and give him time to adjust, both him to us and us to him.

Martin Samuel published some stats the other day showing how much better our results are with Gyok both in the league and overall. Along with a nice line from Declan about how valuable he is.

Stop embarassing yourself, Rich. It's unbecoming a grown man who supports Arsenal

It's a tabloid ffs. Sorry to be a snob but you might as well read the Alabama Maga-KKK-NRA Alliance Truth social feed.

                    {Had another letter in The Times two days ago. Must be double figures now. Social media for the civilised. Oh, and they publish my letters whether I slag off their editorials or ambassadors or write letters about how crusties have more fun cos we have the best drugs. Civilised, see? Not a tabloid - even though it is by shape now.}

I dont read newspapers. Never have.

But my experience of both tabloid and broadsheet coverage of football is that it is often bull****. But then I start off not giving a **** what they think so I suppose my conclusion is inevitable isnt it.

There is an uncomfortable truth in there. A football journalist, even a good one, will invariably know less about your team and its players than you do.

Ditto pundits. Very few of tjem ever say anything that I find interesting

Odegaard off according to several news outlets.

Apparently Bryan Munich want him to slow their midfield down
Other clubs never came into my thoughts once I knew Arsenal wanted to sign me.
