Is our best player. I hope you all know this? Well him or Rice.

I like him alot, so much Arsenal flavour.Originally posted by PSRB View PostHe's probably my favourite player.
That photo of him and his father in the away end at Kenilworth Road is one for all time."Plenty of strikers can score goals," he said, gesturing to the famous old stands casting shadows around us.
"But a lot have found it difficult wearing the number 9 shirt for The Arsenal."

Honourable mention for Nicolas Jover too.Originally posted by Peter View PostOr Gabriel. Or Saliba.
And dont even get me started on Saka...."Plenty of strikers can score goals," he said, gesturing to the famous old stands casting shadows around us.

Best at what? Running into space - yes, I'll grant you. Decent finisher? Yeah generally. Defensive contribution? Excellent.Originally posted by John Bunnell View PostIs our best player. I hope you all know this? Well him or Rice.
But he isn't technical (nor does he claim to be) and is therefore ineffective against what we face in 80% of our PL games.

Him and Trossard have been a large source of success this season. Definitely more than 20 percent!! More joy down the left than Saka and co. He just terrorises defences with his directness which is what we need because our so called Technical players are not really cutting up the defence are they?Originally posted by Rich View PostBest at what? He's only 24 as well he's going to be really hitting top gear soon.

He's also got a lovely 1st touch when taking the ball down out of the air, not many better

I would agree with that. But I think to define our 'best' player you'd have to ask for the one that we could least live without?Originally posted by John Bunnell View PostAnd that pass yesterday was outstanding. When he plays instinctively there's not many better.
I'd argue that's Rice, Odegaard, one of the two centre backs or Saka (even if he doesn't really put up the numbers - he's the physical emodiment of Arteta's project and synonymous with the club).

What annoys me is that people don't rate Raya enough. He's not a nutter like Mad Jens of Sir Chez {both of whom I loved}, he'd calm and reassuring like Spunky or Paddy J.
The sad reality is that your silverware determines in part how good you are seen to be. Without City's 115 wotsits, Gabby, Willy and Daveed would have 2 titles already and be on for their third and we'd all be saying they're as good as TA, MK, Spunky.
As it is they've won less than Holding and Flappyhandski.
Raya is criminally under-rated imo.

Totally agree on Raya. Were discussing the 2004 team in the office and the only 2 players I thought would make the first XI were Raya and Rice.....possibly Timber at RBOriginally posted by Ganpati's Goonerz--AFC's Aboriginal Fertility Cult View PostSaka - 20 goal involvements in last 24 CL games it said the night before.

Not underrated from me. Best keeper we've had since the mad German for sure and definitely best keeper in the league. Keepers don't tend to get put in conversations about best players. Kinda like how horror films rarely get nominated for awards, they should but they don't.Originally posted by Ganpati's Goonerz--AFC's Aboriginal Fertility Cult View PostSaka - 20 goal involvements in last 24 CL games it said the night before.

Possibly P? We may have liked Ralph?s attitude but he was not even close to the RB that Timber is.Originally posted by PSRB View PostTotally agree on Raya. And Saliba walks into that team as well.

Raya deserves to be in the 'player we could least live without' debate, for sure. What a marvellous aquisition he's been.Originally posted by PSRB View PostTotally agree on Raya.
