This is a statement that gets banded around a fair amount. And I'm not disagreeing with it.... However, when compared to other similar players his output is perhaps a leetle down on those elite level players.

I'd rather not. And i think we won't, because I'm not sure any other club genuinely understands what he is worth.

A lot of our fans dont seem to.....

Young strikers coming up through the ranks at big, ambitious clubs never make it; there's no patience.

This goes double for the ones that have become addicted to Champions League cash.

He's got too much Arsenal flavour for us to sell. Our franchise player, as the Americans would say.

On the other hand, why wouldn't you start Kai, or even Jesus tomorrow night.

Gentle run out in a game we don't really have to win; sounds ready-made for a bit of rotation.

Well, you see; That would mean having to play Gyokeres against United at home which I suspect Arteta is loathe to do.

Yes. Simply, we are more likely to win when the Glock plays.

Nothing against the other two, perhaps they'll all play a part in both matches. Manchester United is the important one though, so Viktor plays.

Yes, the nibs have gone over all the stats and facts and figures and consulted with their charts and models and graphs and everything and come to the conclusion that it's essentially witchcraft so there's nothing to be done but accept it

That is a very long-winded definition of a traditional centre forward.

You would have said that to Ted Drake's face.

It's true. Like goalkeepers, they play where they play because they cannot actually play football very well.

Alan Smith spoiled us all and got us insisting that all strikers ought to be able to control a football.

That was a new era. Centre forwards being expected to be footballers. And the inevitable happened- they wanted to play football and stopped being centre forwards. And the role disappeared. Like leg spin.

Same thing is happening with keepers, as you say. Raya is a bit of a dinosaur in being able to actually catch a football. Much better to cover yourself in tattoos, do a few step overs and then flail a punch at a cross before falling over and screaming for a foul.
