  • Fairplay to Everton.

They didn't stop the weekend's narrative dead in its tracks but they certainly stalled it a bit. Played well too.
"Plenty of strikers can score goals," he said, gesturing to the famous old stands casting shadows around us.

"But a lot have found it difficult wearing the number 9 shirt for The Arsenal."

No one?s playing consistently well at this point. Every side in that league is capable of taking points from the top sides; this weeks results have proven that beyond doubt.
I had a feeling that ginger, parade ground staffer was going to frustrate us yesterday. United next weekend could be a real test of our resolve.
City took 3pts from them at home. It?s a must win.

It is an absolute must win. The game after is at Leeds. **** me, that is a tough game.

Our away record this season is not good enough. 14 goals in 11 games. 2 wins from our last 6 matches.

It is our excellent home form that has kept us top. If that dips, we are in deep ****.

It may be that we can win the league playing like we have this season. But it will rely on City not getting their act together.

Perhaps the striker can score against Leeds United again

It is better, but only just. Villa and Spurs have taken 3 points fewer than us away from home. Both have scored more goals.

More worryingly, our away results are getting worse rather than better. 4 of those wins came in the first five games. Then 2 from the next 6.

For now it is enough. If City click into gear it won't be.

We are capable of doing better. And matching our capabilities should be the target.

                      Three fewer is still fewer

Across the board it looks like away points are harder to come by this season. City's record is poor - the lazy assiimption thst they will magically click is just silly. We are grinding out points true but looks like the most likely way to win the league this year

It isnt an assumption, lazy or otherwise. It is a fear and yes, it looks pretty unlikely at this point.

We may well end up winning the league because everyone else was worse. I'll take it, but I'll still want better.

So will Arteta, by the way

Just feel like a signing (even on loan with option to buy) would give us a huge lift. We all know how much I'd like Alvarez from Atheltico but even someone like Guler from Madrid would be a huge boost.

That's true. Trouble is, we've got too many players already.

At this point, all we really need is for the new throw-in coach to chip with a goal or two. That might give us the same huge boost.

Hmmm... doesn't seem to stop City and Chelsea who are in the process of hoovering up two of our defensive targets
