    They?re allowed an off day.
The mental block vs the Scousers is still there.

A six point cushion is still decent.

The pressure really starts here. You could feel it from kick off.

You mean there wasn?t any pressure against Villa?

We?re top of the league and clear favourites at this point.

        There?s pressure every game, Peter

          It's different, WES.

Those City results have made this a huge opportunity to win the league. You may never get a better one.

That's a different kind of pressure.

We have a nice run in compared to City. That?s getting all those nasty away games sorted early for you.

Think we could do with a morale boosting singing this month. Doesn?t matter if we don?t NEED it.

This side is not at the level of Wenger?s invincibles. That squad steam rollered their way to the title. They inspired a level of fan confidence going into games that Arteta?s sides have yet to achieve.
Perhaps we?re looking for that affirmation that we *are the best team in the league. I don?t think we?ll get that because we have a weak link upfront and a weakness at left back caused by repeated flakey injuries to Calafiori & Hincapie.
I still think we have enough to win the league but it?s possibly going to be a bumpy ride, where we rely on others dropping points rather than simply crushing all before us.

I think it is more about holding our nerve and performing. Liverpool rattled us tonight with niggly stuff. Have to stay above that.

Martinelli didn't cover himself in glory.

That confidence came from the players having won the Double, some of them twice. This side has won **** all.

                  It's on.
"Plenty of strikers can score goals," he said, gesturing to the famous old stands casting shadows around us.

"But a lot have found it difficult wearing the number 9 shirt for The Arsenal."

Well, we haven't covered ourselves in glory against the bigger sides this season. Lost at Liverpool and Villa, drew at home to Liverpool and City. We beat Villa bit God knows how they weren't in front at half time.

I think there is a part of us that isnt 100% convinced that we are going to do it. And I do think that is going to be a problem as the pressure ramps up.

We will see. I don't want to think about what hanging on to 1 goal leads is going to be like in the last 6 or 7 games of the season

The first title is the hardest to win, they say

Well you cant win the second one until you win the first. So in a way that is even harder....

22 years..... our longest run without a title since we first won it.

Oh, I shan't lecture you on historical "title droughts". But you really ought to look up the list, if you enjoy a good laugh. I don't think 22 years is remarkable even amongst the "big clubs"

There are only really three big clubs. Certainly in terms of historical titles. And I know the other have longer droughts than this.

But it is our longest. And it is long.

Also *******s, to some extent. Players and managers don't really give a **** about that.

Fair enough. It is instructive though, to note that they (Liverpool, Manchester United and Chelsea) all emerged eventually from their slumber and went on to great things.

We're not finished yet. In fact, Mikel is just getting started. There's hope
