I don't think the boss minds so long as we win the game.Originally posted by Peter View PostBecause we are just not good enough to kill off or control games.
Every week, every game is on a knife edge for 95 minutes.
Perhaps he's superstitious? It's football, not show business

It is a number of things, most worryingly a result of consistently below par performances.Originally posted by redgunamo View PostI don't think the boss minds so long as we win the game.

It puts a huge strain on the players. While City are strolling to 3-0 leads and able to spend the last half an hour peacocking, we are pushing ourselves to the very limit every game just to cling to a win.
And most obviously, it leaves you at the mercy of a slip, a deflection, an error or a moment of brilliance from an opponent or a referee. Do it every week and you will regularly drop points, as at Sunderland, Villa, and very nearly Wolves.

It's like your neighbours winning the football pools fifteen years ago (roughly when Manchester City were bought out) and you yourself having made your fortune last year (the Summer just gone was our first, real, billionaire-club transfer window); naturally, they are way ahead of you. And they will likely stay way ahead of you because you actually had to earn your money while watching every penny.Originally posted by Peter View PostIt is a number of things, most worryingly a result of consistently below par performances.

That is why I say, we are doing a magnificent job keeping up with them right now. However the fact remains that they ARE better than us and perhaps they have also made a few other teams better than us too, at least in one off games; Villa will be fun
I do broadly agree with your points though."Plenty of strikers can score goals," he said, gesturing to the famous old stands casting shadows around us.
