    A good result.

    Patchy performance.

    Great pelanty.

    Never a pen for Everton.

    Champs win when playing ****e?
Other clubs never came into my thoughts once I knew Arsenal wanted to sign me.

Never a penalty in that we would never be given it.

I've seen them given, but never for us.

Without a full squad, it's unlikely we'll blow too many teams away. Clean Sheets and set pieces is the right way to go.
"Plenty of strikers can score goals," he said, gesturing to the famous old stands casting shadows around us.

"But a lot have found it difficult wearing the number 9 shirt for The Arsenal."

They are a substitute for good performances. We can only rely on this for so long.

At some point we are going to have to start playing well, no matter how distasteful that may be to some.

Nobody minds if we win matches while playing well. I mean, that couldn't do any REAL harm, I suppose.

The main problem would be that it would create a sense of belief around the club. People might start to believe that we can win something. And if we keep doing it, we might actually win something.

That is when the real trouble starts

REAL trouble?! As if things are not bad enough already.

Fortunately, that new striker of ours has now joined a long, notorious list of forwards who have scored a penalty in a 1-nil win and also famously never won anything; ne'er-do-wells and wasters like Salah, Aguero and Ronaldo. So there's still hope

Ask Liverpool. Win the title and even half a billion quid isn't enough to deal with the fall out.

I can't imagine how bad it must be to win the champions league

Manchester United too, win the European Cup and it takes decades to recover.

We are very fortunate that we have never had to deal with that problem. Fingers crossed etc

Going unbeaten for a season killed us. We are still trying to recover from it....

Right. It cost us a fortune in bonuses too, as I recall it. We don't want to be doing that again anytime soon.

Sometimes success can be every bit as disconcerting as failure.

And I know that, because Don Henley told me
