  • Raya for their goal

    Hmmm

The header was hardly just inside the post. Had he held his ground instead of moving two steps to his left I think he saves it. And with their striker standing in the box I?m not sure why he would assume he isn?t going to make contact with the ball and plays for it to get to the post to his left.

    Keeper error imo.

Yes watch it from directly in front of the goal, if Raya does not move to his left the ball goes almost directly to him - I?m not too sure why he moved to his left

Only seen it twice but I'd say everything about that goal is a disgrace. Absolutely piss poor.

On that we can agree Peter.

Mind you, so was the rest of the game.

Very glad I didn't watch it all. What i saw was really bad.

Did he really push Saliba across to left side centre back?

No. If a cross goes in at the far post, that's keeper error; that's his responsibility, to follow the flight of the ball.

When the forward (or whoever) gets a touch and it goes in at the front post, that's on the defender(s).

It looks silly sometimes but them's the teachings.
"Plenty of strikers can score goals," he said, gesturing to the famous old stands casting shadows around us.

"But a lot have found it difficult wearing the number 9 shirt for The Arsenal."

Hmmm, not convinced, red. If that was the teachings every time a cross came into the box the keeper would move to the far post, which doesn't happen.

Raya had to look at the flight of the ball and the positioning of the striker and decide what was most likely to happen. Not easy, he had a split second to take that decision, but I think he got it wrong. The cross was fairly flat and directly at the striker, I think he should have held his central position.

Still, means little compared to how **** the rest of the team were

                  that's incredibly harsh, w.
Other clubs never came into my thoughts once I knew Arsenal wanted to sign me.

                    Maybe, I

I've never played in goal, you see. But the view from in front of the goal shows that he would have saved it had he not moved to his left.

Of course, we could point out that Saka and Odegaard stood there like pylons and let the Wolves player play the ball into the box, no pressure or effort to stop the cross whatsoever. Pathetic.

He moved to where the ball was heading and the defender should have taken care of the attacker.

The performance once we scored was abject. At best.

Your last sentence is telling. How many times have we said that?

If Arteta had been in charge of Nazi Germany they would have never got further than the Rhineland.

(I am not comparing Arteta to Hitler, nor advocating a Hitleresque approach to football management. It is purely an illustration around caution)
