    It just doesn't make sense
In the past 4 seasons, an injury to a key player during the run in cost us. Except last year where myriad injuries to myriad players throughout the season cost us.

As we have no way of knowing, even in a good season, which vital cog will be injured during the run in, we need cover for everybody. And players who can play multiple positions in case we lose both nominated players for position X.

Thus we bought the half a team we didn't have adequate cover for. The final signing, Hinchappy, was a bit OTT imo. Yakob was fine as the CL knockouts showed. {Though I think he deserved regular first team football.} But upgrading {hopefully, supposedly} to Hinchappy at the cost of an extra ?20m that has to come from next year's money seems a little excessive to me.

But we did that with Raya and that worked out a treat.
