  • Those saying we should play MLS not Ricky C. Rio Ferdinand agrees

Rio Ferdinand says he 'can't believe' Mikel Arteta has dropped Myles Lewis-Skelly following his impressive breakout season at Arsenal.

Says he's better in MF and wonders if it's because Cala is so much taller.

He did well when he came on yesterday and that step over assist for Easy vs the mighty Vale was class.

We need to make sure he keeps playing. Have horses for courses games.

The one thing I like now, after the subs vs NU and the Vale game, is that MA is looking at 2 no.10s as he tried for Kai's first half season.

At least now, basically for the first time, we have a way of changing the formation when we need a goal.

Take off Zubi {unless Dec is the less fit of the two at that time} and play Odin and Easy with two wingers. 4-1-4-1

And if we do that with a back 4, I think MLS would be the better fit. Linking up with Gabby and Easy like that Vale game.

Also, for the first time, we took off a defender and brought on a MF, and then a DM for a no.10. So when MnM scored, we were playing 3-1-1-4-1. He's never done that before. Well chuffed.

And when we have everyone fit, we could take off a FB for a winger. B-Odin-Noni triangles. Or Gabby-Leo-Easy.

If we're 1-0 down with 10-15 mins left, against a parked bus defence, what would we have to lose?

And while Noni and Kai are out, Ethan could do it instead as yet another no.10 or a false-FB.} Like the good ol' days when Ars?ne used to keep chucking on forwards until we scored. Or the later Ars?ne when he kept chucking on midget no.10s.

MA's always been able to bring on defenders to shut up shop. Now we have options to change to a much more attacking formation. Would anyone have thought on Saturday that we'd be playing 3 defenders with 2 no.10s and MnM replacing a DM and playing as a second striker.

    I like this. 1 goalie, 2 CHs, 1 Dec and 7 no.10s/wingers/strikers.

In a word, sod Rio Ferdinand.
"Plenty of strikers can score goals," he said, gesturing to the famous old stands casting shadows around us.

"But a lot have found it difficult wearing the number 9 shirt for The Arsenal."
