Unfotunately, GG, I am landlocked here in St. Louis so a cheap oyster is suspect in my book, gotta be flown in. I do know of what I consider the best raw bar in the whole US of A, however. It is in an out of the way place called Indian Pass, by Apalachicola, Florida. I'll link to it. Oysters are no more than an hour from being pulled at the oyster farm. Your Apalachicola oyster is the most flavorful in my book.

My old man worked in the City running some US property investment trust. Meant he spent a month in the states each year, plus occasional day trips on Concorde.
When I was about 12, he came back with this tee-shirt saying CJ's eat oysters love longer. Was my fave tee-shirt for about the next 5 years cos he'd got me adult size.Comment
