Software update

We'll be upgrading our forum software over the next few days. As part of this update we will need to prune threads over 12 months old.

Downtime will be kept to a minimum during the upgrade and your usernames and passwords will still work when we are back up and running.

    Hang on. They are threatening to punish Jeez for taking off his shirt

    and showing a "I belong to Jesus" tee-shirt underneath?

    As you know, I'm not an Abrahamic but all God is One and how dare a bunch of spiritually-illiterate football-wallahs tell some named after both Jesus and His top archangel that he can't wear a tee-shirt mentioning His name.

    Especially when the Almighty has just shown His glory by getting Jeez to score a screamer 55 secs coming on after a year out with injury?

    What next? Ban El-Neny for being named after Islam's prophet? Ban the three Gabies?

    This is a disgrace.

    Yes, scrolling through various highlight videos, some TV stations apparently chose not to show it.

      It's ridiculous. If he was a Jihadi wearing a "Kill the Jews" tee-shirt or a Hindutva fascist wearing one saying "All Untouchables are scum" then I'd get it.

      But Jesus - as opposed to organised Christianity - just said do unto others and turn the other cheek and smacketh it into the back of the net less than minute after comingeth off the bench. How on earth is that offensive? Am I gonna get banned from the forum for having Ganpati in my user name?

      After the NLD, Easy said he'd prayed that morning for a hat-trick and the Good Lord did delivereth. Should he get suspended for that? What about all the footballers who point to the sky in thanks after scoring? Is that a crime, thanking the Divine - whatever name we call Him or whatever faith we follow - for Him getting the one's shot into the goal?

      Are you serious about some tv channels not showing the tee-shirt?

      I bet Middle Eastern and Indian tv didn't have a problem, only atheist, former Christian ones.
