Is it simply my bias that makes me think Rooney on MotD is utterly useless?

I'm trying not to judge him on how much I disliked him as a player. And he doesn't hate us like Neville, he's clearly trying to be positive which is great to see.

It's just that he finds it really hard to speak. And when he eventually manages to get the words out, they don't make much sense.

Listening to him analyse Vik's second:

Er, he runs straight which allows him to get the header away.

So is it just me or is the spud-faced granny-shagger just not that articulate or insightful?

    It isnt just you.

But he is a pundit. Insight is not really in the job description and being articulate almost makes you over qualified.

If you've played for England and United, you're in. And we have to put up with you for decades.

Has Alan Shearer ever said anything that you considered worth hearing? Ever?

Thing is, I like Alan Shearer. I think it was around December 2001, we lost 3-1 at home to NUFC. We were 1-0 up in the first half and then Graham Poll sent off the Romford Pele for a 2nd yellow foul on Shearer even though Shearer told Poll that it was never a yellow and he should put his card away.

With 5 mins left, with the score at 1-1, he gave them a pelanty for a tackle we won cleanly. And as we pushed for an equaliser, they scored a 3rd on the break in stoppage time.

Titi went to attack Poll at the final whistle, but Shearer grabbed him and put his arm around him and pulled him away, telling Titi that he couldn't change the result and we could still win the title but not if he got himself a long suspension for lumping Poll.

I'd hated Shearer before that, but have loved him ever since.

We drew 3 and won 18 of our remaining league games.

So what Shearer said to Titi as he grabbed him was well worth hearing.

And he turned down the Mancs twice.

As I recall, Henry was charged for that incident.

He turned down United for more money at Blackburn. Although after that he turned them down to play for Newcatle- I can actually respect that.

I was of course referring to his work as a pundit but thank you for reminding me of that horrific game

Was Titi charged? He certainly didn't get suspended.

It was a horrific game but started a great run to the double.

I much preferred Shearer and IWWW to the ones they have now.

He got a three game suspension. And the hearing was delayed until March so that any ban didnt occur while he was out with a groin injury.

Bobby Robson and Newcastle kicked up a huge stink because the timing of the ban meant that he didnt miss the cup game against them. But Bergkamp made them look like ****s in that game anyway

By the way, after the Graham Poll game Bobby Robson said 'some people need to learn how to lose'. I dont care what he did for England, he can **** off. He was an absolute ****er to Wenger.

    ****ing geordies
