I remember Charlie Nicholas scoring a hat trick at Grimsby in the Cup

I have been chatting to their fans since they beat the Mancs this year and believe me, so do they. Seem quite chuffed that it was as close as it was and it took a hat-trick with two world class FKs from Charlie to beat them.

They also remember us beating them 1-0 in the '36 Cup semi we went on to win. 'Twas their greatest ever season, came fifth in the top flight {with another cup semi in '39.}

They also had a striker who, like Ted Drake, scored 42 in 42, albeit in Div 2 when they won promotion around '35.

Civilised lot. Seem to quite like us. Don't much like the Mancs and hate Lincoln and Hull.

Their new CH signed from us in Jan, Maldini Kacurri, had a great debut and they're already thinking "we'll make a fortune when he leaves in a couple of years - far too good for this level - let's just hope he gets us promoted once or twice first."
