Hang on. City have lost to ManU? Didn't see that coming.

Good start to my trip to Paris.

Just need Grimsby and us to win today with no injuries or suspensions. That would be a nice hat-trick for my first day here.

Coach was 4 hrs late, but will hopefully get a full refund.

Ganpati bless and much as it pains me to say it, thank U Man you.

Just make sure you're manically depressed and we should be fine.

Going to my mate's parents for the game tonight - need to get a cheap Sauternes or Montbazillac to go with the foie gras my mate had ready for me.

His dad was an Algerian freedom fighter - showed me a photo in his book with him and his posse with an RPG in front of a downed French fighter. He met his wife {mate's mum} in Algeria just after independence when she was doing French national service as a civil servant there helping rebuild the country. They then came to France and he became an academic.

My mate's a commie who's not into sport but his 80-something dad is a Gooner. I guess when they started showing the PL in France it was Wenger's team with PV, Titi, Bobby, Skiltord etc. I've got him an Arsenal woolly hat he wears when we play.

So Ganpati willing, it'll be a great night. Must get a cheap, drinkable claret. When I was out before Xmas the year before, I took 'round a €9 Cru Bourgeois Haut-M?doc which they loved. Will get some cheese, too.

Each to their own, but I much prefer watching a game consuming those as opposed to a pint and kebab.

Wouldn't be the end of the world. But would be another missed opportunity.
