Given what's happened since Fergie won his last title and retired, AW selling RVP for

25 mil looks a stroke of genius.

He only had 18 months left as a top PL striker {as AW pointed out} and ManU have been totally shafted ever since that first, title winning season.

I was fuming at the time, but as we used to say 'round here, Arsene knows.

Let's hope they eventually buy so many over-priced donkeys that they get relegated.

I think that was one of those transfers that was in the jest interests of everyone. He wanted tow in stuff. We needed money, United needed goals.

It was a very good price at the time.

Oh, it really hurt. Giving them the title for a poxy 25 mil. That's 2/3rds of a Mustaphi.

But given it let to SAF's retirement, and the ongoing ****-show ever since, I now consider it at bargain.

Let's hope their next manager's even worse and the club's culture becomes even more toxic.

I did not like that period of time where we sold our players to 'rivals' on a different note I was wondering how many united managers has Luke shaw played under?

Yes, that put us back ten years but there was nothing to be done about it. Hopefully we are reaping the rewards now.

Shaw is basically the grim reaper for Manchester United managers. Signed by van Gaal; then there was Mourinho, Ole, Rangnick, ten Hag and Amorim.
"Plenty of strikers can score goals," he said, gesturing to the famous old stands casting shadows around us.

"But a lot have found it difficult wearing the number 9 shirt for The Arsenal."

Unrelated really... But I'll never hate RvP. Most unbelievably tekkie player we've ever had. Done things I couldn't believe more than any other Arsenal player. That run he did for the last two seasons with us and first season with United is one of the best runs a striker has had in the English top flight and don't think he's talked about enough in the conversation of best ever EPL strikers.

Agree with that. The volley against Charlton as well. Loved that.
