Yes, we have established that. The players however, I feel certain, will take a different view.
"Plenty of strikers can score goals," he said, gesturing to the famous old stands casting shadows around us.

"But a lot have found it difficult wearing the number 9 shirt for The Arsenal."

There you go again, talking about what the players want. You don't let the horses choose their races, or hounds their hunts.

They get paid a fortune to do what they're told. A night off means they can focus on their social media and deodorant adverts.

You?d like to think Arteta won?t be driving them into the ground for training purposes when there?s a Saturday lunchtime game ?
I can never be sure about these things

It's t'other way about; you pay them a fortune because you want them to play in the Champions League.

That's more like it. If there's too much work, too many games, you reduce their training.

We cant afford any of that nonsense.... imprisonment leads to unavailability. Most disruptive.

That said Havertz could have done a stretch when he got injured in February and he'd be out by now.

No, you have to pay them a fortune because they play in the champions league. But the aim is to compete in the competition, not strut around giving it the big 'un and getting more L'Or?al contracts.

If the gaffer says they stay at home, they stay at home. I assume they will all want to play in the Inter game. He can give them a choice

I reckon it's the competition per se that matters, rather than individual fixtures or particular teams. In fact, playing against weaker opposition is to be preferred as it offers better opportunities for stat-padding.

Then they need to be reminded that their stats don't matter. Ours do.

If they want to play for themselves they can pay their own salaries.
