Good to see your unbridled optimism extends to cricket as well Peter

Optimism on an Ashes tour is the ultimate triumph of hope over experience.

We haven't won a test here in almost 15 years.

    Another wicket, as I type

As usual, every time we get a foothold in the game we chuck it.

I'd say only Duckett and Smth got decent deliveries. Everybody else got themselves out with poor shots to nothing deliveries.

Suggests conditions aren't too difficult and 270 odd is not enough.

    How long left to play?

The over rate is a disgrace. Haven't even bowled 70 overs!

Can't be long, they were saying that the Aussies wouldn't get the new ball today when I drove to work 3 hours ago. Had bowled something like 42 overs by what would be the tea break.

11.30 apparently. Even if we declare now you'd be lucky to get through 2 overs. Doesn't seem worth it.
