Thread: Gyokeres is too bloody slow. It's a marginal thing but,

That's when you need slightly bulky no. 9s who can score with their cocks, arses, all sorts
See, I think you need tricky midgets who can turn in circles and create angles.

The real Odegaard is the key to low blocks. We need him back.

TBF, AW used to have a team full of tricky midgets and we still had the horseshoe of death most matches while also conceding goals.

And even then, we could still get docked points for kicking off with the Mancs. I'll believe it when the silverwear's in a bus driving 'round Islington and not before.

    {Wish we'd started a ruck on the first day at OT. Then I'd have known it was nailed on.}

Debatable, but even if I accept you are right, the midgets or Odegaard don't score the goals, you need someone like Gyokeres for that.

Henry, as an example, was too close to being one of those tricky players to do what we need Gyokeres to do

We want Gyokeres to be Haaland but he isn't even a tenth of the goalscorer that Haaland is.

He'll be fine, he needs time and a good run and the rest of the team to get used to him. We wanted and needed someone who can score the scruffy goals in scruffy games. He's suited to that.

When we make the CL final I would expect to see Havertz in the team.
Come, come, Wes. You can?t really count either of those goals as breaking his personal goal drought. One was a fortunate deflection from a wayward scufffed shot, the other, he sort of, just got in the way.
Look, you could be right, it?s still early days and all that but I couldn?t help noticing George Graham in the crowd, his presence embellishing those grinding 1-0 days of old. Personally, I favour the aesthetes, the beautiful game if you will but ultimately, I?ll take an ugly, uncompromising win over an exquisite draw.

It's weird to me that anyone thinks that finishing is our problem. It's a lack of creativity- or more specifically, a reliance on a particular type of creativity.

All of our forward players can score goals. Nobody can score goals if you don't create chances or space.

We don't need him to be Haaland, and we don't even need him to score goals. He just needs to help US score goals.

Remember, no centre forward has been prolific under Arteta. Aubamayang, Laxazette, Eddie, Jesus, Havertz. All have played well but none have scored a huge amount of goals. Havertz has the best strike rate at around 1 in 2 games at centre forward.

We have players who can score goals. We jist need more creativity. Gyokeres can help with that without scoring.

I just want him to be the Gyokeres of last season, I don't expect him to be Haaland. I think he's doing okay and will get better.

He's a handful. He's very physically strong and he makes defenders panic because of it. Anyway we're getting results and he's been leading the line so I don't see any reason to drop him. We have diminutive, tricky & fast strikers like Jesus who can turn on a two pence and fat load of use he's done for us.
