Thread: Gyokeres is too bloody slow. It's a marginal thing but,

Hmmm. Well he is a poor header of the ball so you can't put ariel crosses in for him. And when they pull balls across the box for him his balance seems all over the place and he takes too long to correct it - thus failing to get a clean shot away.

The closest player I can think of to wear an Arsenal shirt is Chamakh.

Other than the headed goal in preseason, I can think of one other cross he's had put in to head (yes he missed, but that's not the point).

Could t score in a brothel, as the saying goes. He?ll get a few but he?s looking every inch a Championship striker from what I?ve seen so far. His best quality is his physicality. Other than that.. meh..

Fortuantely Havertz is back soon and so young Victor (well he's not young - in footballing terms) will be sitting on the bench.
Making that statement about Havertz (who isn?t a number 9) says quite a bit about Gyokeres.
I prefer the lads with the dancing feet and a bit of pace. Wrighty would have scored a hat full in this set up.

Don't know how Wrighty would get on in this premier league. It's a weird season so far. Everyone else is starting to focus heavily on set pieces as well.

Niall Quinn would score a few....

It?s getting a bit weird when punters and bookies are already saying it?s ours to lose and we?re not even in November .
    Games gone

4 games ago, the Scousers had it sown up, were clearly gonna be Invincibles and we were scrapping for any form of European football.

Almost like "let's all wait 'till Easter like we used to" doesn't get as many clicks as all this hyperbolic twaddle.

Quite, until it's mathematically done, I'm not having it.

I think you'll find, Rich, that Gyokeres was bought in no small part to help solve the low block problem.

That's when you need slightly bulky no. 9s who can score with their cocks, arses, all sorts

Timing isn't great there, 7s, given that it was an entire two games ago that he scored two against one of the better defensive teams in Europe.

He'll be fine, he needs time and a good run and the rest of the team to get used to him. We wanted and needed someone who can score the scruffy goals in scruffy games. He's suited to that.

When we make the CL final I would expect to see Havertz in the team.
