Instead, for their respective, entirely party-political reasons (LDs seeing an advantage and SNP wanting to have an election before everyone finds out just how much Wee Jimmy Krankie knew about Salmond's nasty sexcapades), they basically abandoned their precious goal of remaining. Really outrageous cynicism, but nobody says anything, preferring to talk about Boris putting party before country. Amazing stuff.
SNP see the chance to win every seat in Scotland thus paving their way to secede. Of course there's nothing odd about UK leaving the EU being the most appalling thing ever but Scotland leaving the UK being the best thing ever. And good luck with independent, Scottish socialism in the EU.
