There were five terrorist incidents in Britain last year. They were massively over-reported, so much so that it is hard to believe imitation did not play a part.

Is the best strategy to sweep these terrorist attacks under the carpet? Or just accept that at some point, we might get our head macheted off whilst walking to work?

I think you'll find Sir C in total agreement with this. I recall when he was burgled he said he would continue to leave his doors unlocked and should the thieves return and rob him again he would clearly have won the moral argument.

It follows that if we allow a terrorist to blow us up we have also won the moral argument and can even take issue with the fellow in the hereafter (just as soon as he's finished ploughing into his thirty seven virgins of course).

I do struggle with the idea that 22 people being murdered by a suicide bomber at a pop concert can be 'over-reported', to be honest.
