500,000-1,000,000 dead Iraqis due to Western interventionism.

Chilcot report was a bit damning on Britain and it's military and intelligence.

God knows how many Afghans. God knows how many Libyans and Syrians and Palestinian civilians dead too due to British/Western carving up and interventionism.

    Pandora's box has been opened.

RIP to the dead. All the dead.. Not pick and chose because of their skin colour or religion, even though if that were to be the case, it would be more RIP the coloureds and Allans.

Why have you left out the 100 Years War? Or the Zulu Wars? Or the invasion of the Arab peninsula and North Africa by the Caliphs? Napoleonic Wars? Alexander the Great? Attila? The Inca genocides in south America? Their own genocide?

    You are really rather selective.

Do you have a source for these telephone numbers, Edmund? I've looked into these estimates a bit in the past, but don't recall suggestions as high as one million. The upper estimates were usually closer to your lower one, ISTR. Of course, quibbling about such numbers is always a vulgar exercise but if they are to be quoted they should probably be as accurate as possible.

Also, you start your list of interventions post 9-11. A true anti-interventionist also opposed the various interventions in Yugoslavia. But then the west was on the muslim sides (and cafflick), so perhaps that doesn't fit your perspective. Or should I say #narrative?

RE Iraq, Afghanistan, Libya and Syria. Now the worst places to live on the planet. Before there was stability and wrongdoings, but now it hasn't been worth a single death in any of the nations. This is all in our lifetime with the perpetrators still alive and probably in the same positions or in positions of power. It is very relevant, Mo.

Who now supports carte blance Israel after carving up Palestine and still after getting British soldiers killed by the colonial Israelis? Britain. It's just like the USS Liberty. A big "So what". Hypocrites.

I am not selective. It is the usual suspects who pick and choose. The instigators are plain to see.

Look I don't want to argue because it's a pointless waste of time. Clearly you are anti-imperialist and anti-Israeli but just accept that and don't pretend to be objective.

The carve-ups you are talking about are only carve-ups because you choose a point in time at which you think things were the way they should be and take any deviation from that as immoral.

Afghanistan has never been a peaceful country and Iraq was wasted by local thugs and crooks well before the west got into the act. Syria was, and is, propped up the Soviets and now Russians. How exactly is the west to blame for that?

To be honest if you hate this part of the world so much you should have the courage of your convictions and throw in your lot with daesh and their like.

Yeah, it obviously is a waste of time now that you are clearly aligning yourself as an imperialist and a Zionist. Yuck. How do you sleep at night?

Muslims didn't carve up the West.

The West armed and financed the Taliban, played fun and games with the Bin Ladens, now prop up the beheading Saudis so your 'thuggish' narrative is a load of nonsense.

You being an imperialist means you hate humanity and justice so if you hate humanity and justice so much....

100,000 is enough. Heck any number more than the many Western Invaders killed is enough. It's like Holocaust Deniers. No matter the number murdered, it was far, far too many and unjustifiable. Now Pandora's box is opened.

Who armed the Taliban to fight the Soviets and has left a mess and radicalised a massive population? Interventionism pre-9/11

Muslims invaded the whole of Egypt and North Africa, which was pretty peaceful at the ime, they carved up huge swathes of Europe: the whole of Iberia, Sicily, Greece, the Balkans, central Europe all the way to Vienna, Rumania, Turkey, Cyprus. Don't you know your history? Or is the first volume missing from your history of Europe?

They overthrew the Persian Empire and murdered their way to the Indian subcontinent. Didn't you know that was the reason why Pakistan and Bangladesh exist?

I am anti-imperialist that's why I voted out in the referendum. I am certainly not a Zionist. You just hate yourself, you want to be something you're not.

You're still missing Mo's point a little here Eduardo. Imperialism played it's role in every corner of the world since the development of man. Land has been taken, Tribes have become driven out or extinguished, be they from aggressors in the Far East, Africa, South America.. Essentially, grabbing what you could of the benefit of the home country was the game, and , played by all.

It's all a bit pointless in todays situation to constantly play the blame game, isn't it ?
It's pick a side time, sadly. It shouldn't be that way but that's people for you. Always looking to take issue over something or other.
The mistake is in trying to identify whose fault it is. History is littered with examples of hypocrisy

    Zbigniew Brzezinski. Remember the name.

Of course, they weren't called the Taliban back then, but it is arguably the source of modern Islamism, conceived in Soviet-era Afghanistan, transplanted to the Balkans to help NATO complete the policies of the 3rd Reich there, then financed by Saudi Arabia to give us AQ, IS and freelance Jihadis to this day.

Being opposed to western militarism of recent decades is not incompatible with opposition to Islamist barbarism, even if elements of the western ruling class has nurtured the barbarians for its own ends. Imperialism can be opposed, but democracy should still be defended.
