They weren't even pressing much. We created the entire problem ourselves. Had we survived that chance, we would have presented them with another one.
I dont think I would press us at all. I'd let the defenders have the ball and play a high line. Force us to play behind them. We dont like doing it and we are **** at it.
Liverpool worked out exactly where our trigger point is for the press and played that entire second half 5 yards ahead of it. We were sat back in formation because that is what we are told to do. Players didn't know what to do and we couldn't change it.
We are coached very precisely and it can be stifling. And for such a good side our reliance on own goals and set pieces is embarrassing.
I think the precision and caution is what is telling the players they aren't quite good enough.
