I just walked. Was a lot of vagrants selling knock off fags and a load of security guys around the station near there. Thought it was a right **** hole.

Then I got up to Sacre Coure, sat in the sun and all seemed better. Went in the smaller church next to it too so my wife could light a candle for her late grandfather. Was very wholesome.

Last time I went to Paris I couldn't believe the state of the place. The area around the main station had the feel of King's Cross in the 80s.

I only stayed one night and witnessed an armed robbery.

And although I didn't get to choose the restaurants, the food was disgusting.

Not a lucky town for me. When I went there as a kid the Eiffel Tower was shut

It was a work trip and none of the decisions were mine. The restaurants were ****e.

I loved the Hotel. They had this old style lift and put me on the top floor with a balcony I could smoke on. It was from that balcony that I witnessed the robbery.

I'm not doubting the allure of the place. It just isn't my cup of tea. I'll stick with Dublin
