But anyone who believes the Divine, who created us and of which we are but a small part, doesn't want us {and therefore HIM} to have fun and enjoy ourselves is a wrong'un.

It's them that should have been torched at the stake, not innocent totty. Thank God most of them ****ed off to Murka.

And as you say, the clobbers' better and they're into wine, women and song. Indeed, if we look at the last 15 years, or in fact pretty much my entire life, Parliament's over-rated. Look at the shysters it dregs up.

    Cavalier it is.

Thing about the civil war is I despise Divine Right and the Glorious Rev proved that we need permanent parliaments. But I can't stand the Puritan belief that God doesn't want us to have fun. In some ways, that's even worse.

Hindus smoke charras and have temples with carvings glorifying the karma sutra and {far, far} more. I reckon had I'd been alive in the 1640s, I'd have joined the EIC, b?ggered off to Bengal and got w?nkered on opium while reading the Vedas until the Restoration.
The Who were mods who became rockers. And were a much better band when they did.

I'd have been a rocker, if forced to choose. I'm not wearing a ****ing suit.

Agree with you on the other thing. Absolute monarchy is appalling but I couldn't possibly side with Cromwell on anything. The fact that there is a statue of him outside parliament still messes with my head.

I'd have sat that one out.

I know what it's all about, but mostly seems a relief when the games are over with and you can carry on with your life.

And when draw that feels like a loss feels like the invincibles days.
Been listening to the audiobook of Paul Davis's autobiography. Brought back some great memories - 87 Littlewwods Cup alone makes it all worthwhile. Everything else is a bonus
