Hee could have brought on Ethan for Eze or MnM, or he could have bought Norgy on for the latter to have a 3 man MF of Zubi, Dev and Norgy, with Easy moving to false 9, or LW with Leo up top. The latter might have worked, actually. Norgy's 6'1", Leo can play as a CF and Easy could still have moved to inside left on the counter.
This is the conversation we had in the summer. He simply doesn't trust Nwaneri in that central role and if he did, Eze wouldn't be here.

And it has to be said, Nwaneri's performance in that role this season he has arguably shown us why he isnt trusted- yet.

If two of Jesus, Havertz, Gyokeres, Martinelli, Madueke and Odegaard had been on the bench they would have come on for the last 15 minutes. But we had nothing, so we had to stick with the exhausted guys.

We can't keep carrying this number of injuries. Nobody can. Hopefully we can get some of those guys back for spurs without us losing more guys elsewhere.

Young Ethan perhaps lacks beef, yet he plays as if he believes he doesn't?

One shudders to think if we'd be where we are if all those absentees were backs, rather than forwards. Would be an interesting experiment.

    For another day.
"Plenty of strikers can score goals," he said, gesturing to the famous old stands casting shadows around us.

"But a lot have found it difficult wearing the number 9 shirt for The Arsenal."

Let's hope we are not having that discussion in a few months, with Merino playing at centre back

I'll be worried if City win today. 4 points gap is nothing to them and they have the experience to really pick up momentum.

Also I am not in the slightest bit impressed by Eze.

But he's looked decent when he's played. The finish after the MnM backheel to MLS etc. He can glide past players. He had that shot just wide recently after he burst through MK but could have played Leo in, but that was worse than a couple of shots from B and Easy yesterday.

Maybe he needs to beef up down the gym, but I would have given him a chance yesterday.

If we had 5 defenders out, we'd still have 3, so we could play Dec at CH, with Easy or Kai at inside left. Or B at FB with Noni at RW.

    Imagine a right side of B, Noni and Odin. Vik drifting left to either take defenders with him or to find space where the RHS trio could get the ball to him via Zubi {and/or Big Willy and Gabby.}

We are not going be gifted the title the way Liverpool were last season. We are going to have to earn this ourselves.

I hope City don't rediscover their ruthless, consistent edge. They haven't yet. If they do, I am not convinced we can fight them off.

And certainly not if we keep having to carry 7 injuries.

    Let's not talk about it.....

The amount of injuries we have in the forward areas is quite astonishing. We have to be due a bit of luck.... surely!

Said the same thing a couple of weeks back. Can?t yet decide if he?s overwhelmed by the shirt, or if Palace was his actual level.
Olise has been a revelation at Bryan, so I?m still hoping that Eze can up his game. See also Gyokeres.

I think he is more effective when the game speeds up and he can use his pace and power. He's being asked to play at a more pedestrian pace with us and maybe he needs to adjust.

Maybe he is better suited to a wide role with us.
