The anti-Martinelli brigade seem very quiet

    he was outstanding, I thought.

When we play teams that actually want to play football, his name should be on the team sheet, every time.

And I wonder if, as we get used to Gyokeres, Martinelli might need to get used to him more than anyone.

I actually think it is Gyokeres changing us, rather than us getting used to him, if you see what I mean.

Agreed, always been a fan, as you know. 2nd half we were outstanding across the entire team.

Gyokeres needed any sort of goal and thankfully got one. Inevitable he'd then get another.

I think a lot of the criticism of him is based on an expectation that he will be a certain type of striker i.e. skilful on the ball, when in fact he was bought precisely because he isn't that type of striker.

The key to getting the best out of him isn't for him to improve his skills, it's for him and his teammates to stop playing as though he has them.

    Then all will be well

Funny. For such a well organised team, they let Saka run riot in the first half constantly leaving him one on one. You can't do that unless you have Maldini at left back.

Second half we hit four goals and Saka wasn't involved in any of them

    Very nice.

    He's deadly from that distance.
"Plenty of strikers can score goals," he said, gesturing to the famous old stands casting shadows around us.

"But a lot have found it difficult wearing the number 9 shirt for The Arsenal."

    That's because they've always been ****s. {Though tbf, as there are only about four of us left here, it's not that statistically strange that there aren't any GabbyGol haters amongst us.}

Gabby's a bit like Feo in that he's the best natural finisher when put through. Though GM is much better defensively, and a much better pwoppa winger. A genetically modified Feo if you will.

The season he had Zinny and Granit, he was great. Since then LB and L8 have chopped and changed. And we basically had everyone out on the right. BW, Odin, B and Kai all over there, Gabby on his own cos his sided 8 was playing a double pivot and his FB was libero-ing all over the pitch.

We're seeing the old Gabby, like we were seeing the old Odin before injury. Vik creates space for others even if he doesn't score. Things are looking up.

I just don't see where Hinchappy's gonna play bar an injury crisis. 3rd choice LB, and now Triphop's being used as a spare LCH, it will take the sort of crisis like we had last year when Yakob played. But as I say, he'd now play Triphop.

40-odd mil just seems a lot of money given how well both Ricky C and MLS are playing.

Martinelli was great last night. I think you're right, when teams give us space, he can have a good go at them.

Gyokeres was a beast last night and fully deserved his goals.

I turned to my mate and said Lewis-Skelly is the weak link tonight, just as he started his little run. No need for thanks.

That said we were a bit ropey at times. Raya, Zubimendi and Timber all had brown trousers moments.

    Set piece again, ole ole
Other clubs never came into my thoughts once I knew Arsenal wanted to sign me.

Surprised more people aren't stroking themselves over Zubi's performance.

Then we'd have started with Norgy the Dane and MnM. And if one got injured 5 mins in, we'd have to play with a defender or a no.10 as one of our pivots.

Though tbf, MLS could do a very good job there, and if we had to play Eze and Ethan ahead of one of those, we could. But we don't want Dec getting booked next CL match.
