So the scum have even more Euro trophies than us.

They have a bus parade while we're a laughing stock. Had permanent injuries since Odin - well, MnM pre-season - and since then BW, JT, Tomi of course, Gabby, Cala twice, Gabby M, Jorgy B, Leo, Jeez and Kai and now Willy to basically complete the set.

Raya and Dec {and Wigwam} - are they the only players we'd be 100% happy to see in the starting XI not to be out injured for a decent period this season?

Yet the scum, managed by a Convict, win a trophy we've failed to win in various guises again.

They won a **** trophy that a PL side should win every season on the basis that no CL side drop into it anymore. They beat Bodo Glimt and United to win it, ffs. The fact they get a CL place out of it is a joke.

At least I work with and know a fair few United fans, so I'm looking forward to today

Hate to say it but my preferred result as well.

Spurs are Spurs, it's almost hard to take them seriously and this plastic cup is so sh1t it's not worth worrying about. Two terrible teams played terribly for over 90 min and someone won on a scrappy oggie. Abusing Spurs never feels like it's really worth it because if they cared, they wouldn't support Spurs.

    Meh.

The Munichs, on the other hand, were once very good and very obnoxious about it. And I can NEVER forgive the 50th game. Now they are utterly ****, trophyless and sit 16th in the table. You just KNOW how much that hurts them.

ManU 16th in the table. It's so f*cking delicious I don't know where to start

Let's not beat ourselves up because a second-rate, terrible team got battered by another second-rate, terrible team and somehow won a cup in a second-rate tournament that is geared towards the strongest league - the Premier League.

It is not lost on me that it is a trophy, but I would never swap our seasons.

Big Ange stating the league doesn't really sure where they're at No mate, it shows you exactly where you're at.

Their trophy is the zenith of crack papering.

Firstly, they already had more european trophies than us

Secondly, we are only a 'laughing stock' because we've come close to winning the big trophies in the last 3 seasons. I'd take that over literally any other achievement in the game (aside from actually winning them, obviously).

Spurs finished in the bottom four of the premier league and won a second rate european trophy that UEFA have effectively relegated to a pub competition with their rule changes. And for all the talk of this being a 'springboard' for Spurs, does anyone really believe they wont sack their manager and spend the summer appointing the wrong replacement, again?

But most important of all, let's not turn into Liverpool and start worrying about what everybody else is doing. Big summer ahead and, hopefully, a big season. Great opportunity to win the league next year if we can get the summer and pre season right, and Arteta rediscovers the rhythm that took us so close in the previous two seasons.

All of that aside.... ffs. ****ing Spurs

Reasonable points. Spurs are Spurs, and you can trust them to remain Spurs. United are actually properly ****ed. That Ratcliffe bloke is an absolute moron and they have no real chance of turning things around with him in charge. Pretty much everything about that club is in bad shape, and you cant fix it on the pitch. Prime Alex Ferguson couldn't sort this mess out.

I can't really see their road out of this, in the short term. Good!

Can genuinely see them getting relegated next season. Not having any European football might actually save them.

In ten years no one will remember when Arsenal had a semi good team and came 2nd in the league a few seasons. History books never remember that nonsense. Trophies matter! When Chelsea unfurl their banners in Europe with 2 CL and 2 Europa wins, that looks good. No one remembers that they were in large part trash in most parts of those seasons. Quite winds me up to see the total disregard of trophies here. At this point I'd take anything I'm tired of being nearly men. Arteta HAS to win something next season it should be a non-negotiable from the board otherwise boot him out.

Similarly, no-one give a **** that Newcastle were the 2006 winners of the Intertoto Cup, j.

Each to their own, obviously. I wouldn't trade nearly men for winning a pub competition whilst having to watch football week in week out that has you wanting to throw up.

And **** the history books. Nobody reads them anyway. If we were in the Europa League I would be happy to win it, but the fact remains that being in it represents failure.

I want to win the league, and I want to win the Champions League. Any other competition is little more than a fun day out and a shiny distraction. I don't need it.
