    But no, it's a sh1t hole.
    Not been for a while, but pretty much anywhere outside the Lanes is a dump.

    The bloke who wrote YMCA rejects the implication that the lyrics are about bummers. Mind you he’s some sort of Gid botherer, so he would say that.

    Faggot? That's a disgrace. Glad they lost the case.

    {Or for WES - you learned any verlan slang yet? In normal French, a gay is a p?d? - short for pederast. So in verlan it's dep. But you always use it with the diminutive petit. So any gay is a p'tit dep.

    When I was living there in the '90s, there was one radio station playing tekno 24/7 - FG 98.2. Only found out decades later it stood for Frequence Gay. Around the time of the GJs marches before covid, my mate Merwenn took me to the middle aged gay couple who started that station for a vegan meal. I'd used the term p'tit dep for gay since I'd learned it in the '90s. I said I'd never realised it came for pederast, I'd just thought it was a neutral term like gay is in English. Should I stop using it, I asked?

    They said no, we're petits deps and proud. Just glad you as a Brit learned the lingo and liked our radio station.

    So if some the the main players in the historic Parisian gay movement are happy with the term p'tit dep for gay, use it.

    Have you used muef for woman and cuef for police {from femme and flic, respectively.}

    But anyone who says faggot should be taken out and shot. What is gay about meatballs?
