Thread: Having recently turned 60 I was remembering

Having recently turned 60 I was remembering

how rickyg used to mock me for being ancient - I believe 'piss-stained' was his epithet of choice - and that was when I was in my thirties.

This suggests to me that others here may no longer be in the first flush of youth any more. I suppose we've all grown old together.

    Soon we'll start dying.

Who will be first? Shall we have a little sweepstake?

Something like 'egg and bacon' in his moniker?

I've made it to 67 now though dodgy moment four years ago, three months in hospital followed by nine hours on the operating table. Endocarditis after an inconsequential cut to my leg while gardening, bacteria grew to a 2cm ball on my heart valve. Now have a carbon valve and a pile of meds to take every day. Otherwise fairly fit and healthy!

I did think of you when Sir C mentioned it but knew you were still going. And hopefully for a good while more.
