I was watching a chap doing 'Stealth Camping' he makes it seem all very high risk.

What on earth is stealth camping? When we travelled around Europe in our truck, either in convoy with mates or on our own, we mostly had no probs parking up in lovely places. Spent ages by the banks of the canal in Toulouse or a beach in Barca, by lakes etc.

Don't tell me these youngsters think they've just invented travelling.

it seems to be a trend of camping in a car park, or behind a shop or in your car or on a roundabout but not being seen.
It's somewhat interesting but the videos seem a little over dramatic and nothing actually happens much.

Back in the late 70s (!) when I was poor, we'd 'holiday' in my second-hand Datsun 180b estate. Best tactic was to find pub which did food and ask if ok to sleep in car in car park. Never a problem, very occasionally got free brekkie (which saved nicking milk bottles off doorsteps) and use of facilities.
