Injury-prone Partey.
21 yr old new signing.
Mo.
I guess this means he might go with MO behind ESR, but after last week, I'd rather we had another no.10 to play on the wings rather than Pépé or Gabby.
The squad needs another wenga-style no.10. A Santi/TR7/Nasri/Cesc/AA23 type. Someone who can play 8, 10 or wide.

True. Would be interested to see AMN there. He actually looked decent when he broke into the first team. What I really liked about him was the season he broke through, he had a funky hairstyle like most of the young black kids do. But by the start of the next season, he'd shaved it off. As if to say I'm gonna focus 100% on my football, my hairdo no longer matters.
His versatility has basically worked against him. If he could have just focussed on one position, I think he could have become a regular, or at least a first choice replacement.
Also, if we had another top drawer CH, then White could do a job as DM with Partey next to him. That could be quite a useful combination with the 3 no. 10s and Auba ahead of them.
Though as you know, I'd like MO tried in front of Partey, with ESR at 10 and either Coni or Gabby on the wings. {Or if we were chasing the game, Laca at 10 with ESR and Saka wide.}
After Sunday, I wish we had another no.10 who could play wide, 10 or AMF, instead of one of Gabby or Coni, or in addition to them. I miss having loads of midget no.10s.
Good lord. GG, honestly mate.
Wenger's obsession with endless no. 10s post a thrashing by Barca was the beginning of the end for him. He, and we, never really recovered from that obsession. The problem with too many no.10s is that you end up with no width, endless possession oriented passing and a midfield that isn't interested in its defensive responsibilities.
And no one is ever a victim of their versatility. They get a reputation for being versatile because they get played in so many positions without ever being really good at any of them. That's AMN, that is.
Agreed. Well said.
Trouble is though, the very best specialists are more expensive and we're still pleading (relative) poverty. Which is what makes our inability/unwillingness to "sort the back-four out", over the years, so bloody infuriating. Yes, we know we can't afford Barcelona-quality players so why the hell are we trying to play Barcelona-football?!
But that's the Spanish way that's in fashion just now, isn't it. And it explains why Real Madrid and Barca have won about sixty league titles between them
"Plenty of strikers can score goals," he said, gesturing to the famous old stands casting shadows around us.
"But a lot have found it difficult wearing the number 9 shirt for The Arsenal."
