I'd argue that's Rice, Odegaard, one of the two centre backs or Saka (even if he doesn't really put up the numbers - he's the physical emodiment of Arteta's project and synonymous with the club).
Saka - 20 goal involvements in last 24 CL games it said the night before.

What annoys me is that people don't rate Raya enough. He's not a nutter like Mad Jens of Sir Chez {both of whom I loved}, he'd calm and reassuring like Spunky or Paddy J.

The sad reality is that your silverware determines in part how good you are seen to be. Without City's 115 wotsits, Gabby, Willy and Daveed would have 2 titles already and be on for their third and we'd all be saying they're as good as TA, MK, Spunky.

As it is they've won less than Holding and Flappyhandski.

    Raya is criminally under-rated imo.

Totally agree on Raya. Were discussing the 2004 team in the office and the only 2 players I thought would make the first XI were Raya and Rice.....possibly Timber at RB

Not underrated from me. Best keeper we've had since the mad German for sure and definitely best keeper in the league. Keepers don't tend to get put in conversations about best players. Kinda like how horror films rarely get nominated for awards, they should but they don't.

Possibly P? We may have liked Ralph?s attitude but he was not even close to the RB that Timber is.

And Saliba walks into that team as well.

Raya deserves to be in the 'player we could least live without' debate, for sure. What a marvellous aquisition he's been.

    Definitely. He's irreplaceable.
"Plenty of strikers can score goals," he said, gesturing to the famous old stands casting shadows around us.

"But a lot have found it difficult wearing the number 9 shirt for The Arsenal."

The trouble with that category is it is related to the quality of the replacement. Kepa is actually decent and I think we could cope without Raya.

The one player we simply cannot replace is Rice. The alternatives simply cannot perform the role he plays in the side.

This is not to understate how good Raya is. He's exceptional.

Kepa's indecision with crosses really stands out and I don't like it

In comparison to Raya, yes. I don't think anyone is as good as Raya on that.

Hmmmm.....Rice wouldn't get in imo. Gilberto and Vieira are pretty hard to beat.

Saliba ahead of Kolo. And I'd pick Saka over Ljungberg.
