I know they bought a 70-80m goalie at the same time as VdV. I don't know what he's called. And as for that Gravadlax, never even heard of him. Doesn't even ring a vague bell like Rodri {who until this summer I didn't know was a DM} or De Bruyne {who I now know isn't even a Cloggie. Which proves he's a wrong'un.}
FTR - I had heard of that TAA full back chap who left on a free.
But let's be honest, these lot all sound like Mickey Mouse Scousers. Barnes, Beardsley, Rush, Dalglish etc. You knew where you were with them lot. Souness, Phil Neal, Terry McDermott, Steve McMahon etc. Pwoppa Scousers. Don't really trust these new signings. Their 80m 'keeper - will he take a bung to throw a game like their Rhodesian? If so, we should have a whip 'round. Unless he's been bought off already.
Two of those might be Scousers, McDermott and McMahon. Barnes is Jamaican, Beardsley a Geordie, Rush Welsh, Dalglish Glaswegian, Souness also a Scot but from Edinburgh and Phil Neal is a Midlander. I bought a house from his son Ashley when he was binned off by Peterborough United. Dad was a witness signature which excited my solicitor no end.
Oh, don't come over all Farragist on me, PJ. Daveed, Big Willy, Big Gabby etc are Gooners. Therefore Barnes, Beardsley and Rush are Scousers.
Glad you made your solicitor happy. But I'm just saying I preferred the Scousers of the '80s to this modern lot. I even preferred that late '90s version with Fowler the Prowler and McManamanamanamanaman. As I say, you used to know where you were with them. Now all I know if they've brought the country's most expensive ever striker and got worse. And they didn't even have the excuse of flogging Rush to Juve for 3 mil.
{Thinking about it, it is quite scary that I can name more '80s Scousers than I can name non-AFC players in the PL atm. I've been quite lucky that two of the ones who most stood out - Dec and Easy - have both signed for us. As I said, I'd never even heard of Noni or Kai.}
What position does this Gravadlax play, then?
And two things about Dalglish. One, if he'd played for us we'd sing his name forever like with Chippy and Bergy. Two, he had the decency to lose Anfield '89 to us. In Hillsborough year. When they'd already won the cup. And hadn't lost by 2 goals at home for a couple of years. See, P? He's a good man. Knew we were his betters and rolled over accordingly.
