THe only possible defence might be that the guy wasn't in control of the ball. But **** me, that is unbelievably tenuous.
I know the 2nd foul by MLS should have seen him get a 2nd yellow. But for his first yellow, on my dodgy stream it looked like he won the ball. Was that really a foul?

I only saw it once and thought exactly the same. Even if that was a foul, it was a ****ing harsh booking.

But a first booking is often soft. The key is how you respond, and he responded with a daft tackle that you shouldn't make even if you're not on a yellow.

Poor lad has developed a reputation for having a 'discipline problem' from an outrageous red card, a sloppy challenge at West Ham and then this.

Didn't he also get booked from the bench before even making his debut? Welcome to Arsenal.....

He was fouled by Kudos as well - so the second red was harsh. He won't be a full back in the long term but will be a hell of a player

I think he'll fit the MA inverted LB rather well. Already more creative and a better defender than Zinny. Strong and fast. He's just got to learn when to take one for the team and when to not give away a red. But for a 17/18 year old in his first season, he's doing fine. The Romford Pele gave away a pen on his debut vs Scousers aged 19 and he did all right.

I'm a better defender than Zinchenko

I was at Anfield that night - for the first 40 minutes he was the best player on the pitch (and it was a dive by Rosenthal anyway)

Funnily enough, I played cricket against him once - it was his debut at that as well. I told him after that it was better than his football debut. Absolutely lovely bloke and very underrated footballer. Ask Arsene

A soft penalty at Anfield? Never...!

I remember that game. He was excellent. It was Wenger that convinced him that he was actually a better footballer than he thought he was.

I still think that the midfield of Overmars, Petit, Vieira, Parlour was as good as it got - or at least as complete, if you know what I mean.

Obviously swap out some for Pires, Gilberto and Freddie but they also had the footballing cheat code that is Thierry Henry

ah! But the formers had Anelka.

Who, at the time, was also unplayable on his day.

Overmars AND Anelka, that was some pace for the opposition to contain...

I only they had the greatest passer of all time to provide the chances, eh
