1978 maybe? When we beat them in the FA cup after a replay?

    The old days...

when getting a 0-0 at home against them was a result
“Other clubs never came into my thoughts once I knew Arsenal wanted to sign me.”

1989. They were irritating on their day and we had a title to try and win. Unlike now

You have clearly forgotten who you are C and you've allowed yourself to degenate

I have become incredibly lachrymose as I have aged, h. To be fair I was always tended towards the wet if eye, but these days I weep at any provocation. Yesterday I was cuddling Dennis and broke into sobs because I love him so much.

    Perhaps I’ve gone full gaylord.

Annoying ****ers. I made the mistake of walking into a pub in Nottingham after a game there (Wrighty got sent off, I think. We lost).

Not friendly. Not friendly at all....

Shame, I actually really like the city. Great place to go out on the piss.

Just say "Aw reet" as a greeting and call everyone "me duck" and you'll be fine.

We go to Nottingham every now and again, only 40 minutes drive.

At least the referee tonight is not card-happy or anything
"Plenty of strikers can score goals," he said, gesturing to the famous old stands casting shadows around us.

"But a lot have found it difficult wearing the number 9 shirt for The Arsenal."

I remember reading Earthly Powers by Burgess 30 odd years ago and the protagonist, in his 80's, confesses he can no longer even hear the word 'loyalty' without weeping copiously. I found it ridiculous at the time but now being closer to 70 than 60 I fully understand.

It's a getting old thing C and seems to afflict all men of depth and intellect such as we. You need only worry about becoming a Brighton Cowboy if you discover yourself sucking more cocks than usual.
