Villa like to act as though they are a bigger club than us. Selling to us looks seriously bad to them.

It is possible that they need to sell and that is probably the only hope of this happening. But if the other lad goes to Saudi, that need is gone.

I can't see this happening and I'm not sure I want it to.
I don't mind us going for him, as long as it doesn't prevent us for going for a Sesko, Gyokeres, Isak, etc in the summer.....which I suspect it will.

It definitely will. No way we spend that much buying both.

Guy is 29. You'll get 2 and a half years out of him before his pace starts to go. It's a gamble. But if it wins us a title it is worth it.

I?m reading 70m for any second offer, which just seems mental for a 29 year old, who, as we?ve all seen, is a bit inconsistent.
Villa really sold the wrong bloke from the little I?ve seen this season. Our offer also seems a bit left field at this stage. He?s like, what, fourth on the list by now ? Hate it when the club go down this path.
End up paying way over the odds for trolley dash players.

Well, looks like the other guy is going anyway and they would have to be raving mad to sell both of them. So I'd say this pursuit of Watkins is one for the bin.

I think he's a decent player but agree with this - a bit like Toney, I'll be glad if we avoid him

    We're relying on you, 007

"Plenty of strikers can score goals," he said, gesturing to the famous old stands casting shadows around us.

"But a lot have found it difficult wearing the number 9 shirt for The Arsenal."

Been quietly chuckling over this one for a couple of hours now. Well played.
