Also means he won't be sold in the summer. Not sure if that was the plan but it's off the table now.

Yep. And for any subsequent sale his value has dropped of a cliff. We'll have to find the money for a new striker elsewhere.

    Feel sorry for him.

"Plenty of strikers can score goals," he said, gesturing to the famous old stands casting shadows around us.

"But a lot have found it difficult wearing the number 9 shirt for The Arsenal." - Alan Smith.

The days when centre forwards were centre forwards.

Talking of that, did you see Nottingham Forest's goal just now. I'm a **** about this but it does speak to the issue people are increasingly making about ?degaard and our midfield creativity in general. They (Forest) only had the one option going forward whereas we like to have two or three; two or three that none of our midfielders actually fancy very much, hence the slow, predictable sideways passing.

Any of our lot could've made that pass but Chris Wood, who is no genius, no real pace, merely experienced and competent; a journeyman and a Kiwi to boot, made it easy for them by taking out the whole defence with one simple run. He knew where to go and his team knew he was going to go there. A striker has a whole different mentality and footballing personality and his team knows it, indeed demands it just as he can demand quick ball from them.

Compare that with our captain's transition and pirouette the other night...

I saw it. Great striker's goal. As much as I loved him, that was the sort of goal Giroud never scored.

The run is exactly the sort that martinelli makes if we ever get him in a more central area. Great finish.

Maybe we need a horrible, snarling ******* up front who constantly berates anyone who doesn't give him what he wants. That'll teach them not to **** about on the ball and take 5 minutes on a throw in

He?s like an Alfa Romeo. Sooner or later they always end up in the workshop.
Has he ever lasted beyond a couple of months without time out on the treatment table ?
