Manchester City are responding to some very bad news.

    Incomprehensible otherwise
"Plenty of strikers can score goals," he said, gesturing to the famous old stands casting shadows around us.

"But a lot have found it difficult wearing the number 9 shirt for The Arsenal."

I reckon they know they are going to get (say) a 30 points deduction this season. They won't get relegated but whats the point trying..? Start again next season.

Either that or there is something/someone absolutely rotten in the dressing room...
“Other clubs never came into my thoughts once I knew Arsenal wanted to sign me.”

I think the dressing room wasn't perfect from day one. It is a HUGE challenge to keep players focused every year when they keep on winning the same thing. After 4 years of winning the title it isn't too surprising to see a little dip.

That little dip has then been transformed into a giant hole by the injury to Rodri, as well as some other key injuries in the same area. We all know how much they rely on Rodri and they have struggled before when he is out. And their depth in that area of the pitch isnt great.

Of course they will recover, and I can see a long stretch of wins. But I can't see them putting together the sort of run they did last season. Rodri is absolutely key in the games where they are not setting the world alight. There will be games where they drop points this season that maybe in previous seasons they would have got over the line.

Unless Liverpool suffer a dramatic collapse, City are not going to be part of the title race this season.

So.... a great oppotunity to hit them with a big fine and points deduction......

I can't see them going on a long run - of course they will be competitive but De Bruyne and Silva are not the players they were and Foden hasn't stepped up. Would you swap Foden for Saka?

Well, I wouldn't swap anyone for Saka. Although that young lad at Barcelona looks ****ing amazing.

I wouldn't want Foden full stop. I don't think it is silly to suggest that if City needed to sell an academy player they would have been better off selling him and keeping Palmer.

As good as Foden is, you are right in that he has not stepped up at all. Didn't for England either. Saka might be less effective in a ****e team but he will still raise that team's level. Not sure Foden does.
