They are, of course, an extension of the workplace, and as such the Company is liable for everything that happens at them. From fights, to sexual harassment, to the police being called, etc, etc

I once had to investigate a grievance from a Christmas party because an employee's wife (also an employee) gave another male employee a bj. I mean, who raises a grievance? I suppose the investigation did lead to the wife and other bloke being dismissed, but, **** me, a grievance

Christmas parties can **** off imo.

Sounds like a grievance wasn't the only thing being raised

I'm wondering why they were both dismissed. Sounds a bit harsh.

It would be pretty normal to class a sex act, carried out at work, to be an act of gross misconduct, P.

Unless, of course, it was is in the course of work within the sex industry. Where it might be positively encouraged...

Don't you hate pretty much any social interaction though?

I don't mind them - any time work pays for my drink I can cope with. Just tend to talk to the people I like anyway.

Missing mine this year . instead I will be sitting by the pool in Brisbane, reading a good book and drinking a cold beer. 2024 can really really just **** off
