    Can someone explain the rules, please?

    {And I admit I'm seeing this through AFC-tinted specs.}

    The Scouser doesn't get done for twice trying to kick out at Kai cos he didn't make contact and that's "part and parcel" of the game.

    When Dec was sent off the norvern monkey {can't remember who we were playing, apologies if they were London/South Coast} was actually trying to kick him, not the ball. {Firstly, his foot was far too high and secondly you can't kick a moving ball for a free kick.} But he didn't make contact.

    A player, any player, wins a tackle with his foot riding up over the ball. He doesn't make contact with the oppo and wins the ball but is off. Now fair play. We all saw what happened to Eddie/Rambo, not in control, potentially season ending.

    But how was the Scouser or that cünt vs Dec in control when they lashed out?

    An re:Leo's red vs City. It's not just that he wasn't stopping a quick free kick. Look when and where it was. They would have really taken their time for a set piece. It would prob been the last move of the half and if City had kept it alive and the ref added on 30-60 secs cos of Leo none of us would have complained. In short, there was no advantage gained, yet he's off.

    Likewise, if Dec had simply stopped for a breather, he'd have still have been delaying the FK but not retreating 10 yards quick enough isn't a yellow or you'd have to book the whole wall every time there's a direct FK around the box.

    But we also have to be 100% sure he heard the whistle which seems to go when he's started his boot swing.

    The goal on Sun ruled out for the Kiwior "foul". Then why wasn't Kai and Gabby booked? Supposedly they'd heard the whistle but everyone would have said it insane for them to be booked {unless they were both called Robin and we were playing in Barca.}

    In short, I don't get it any more, if I ever did.

    And VAR taking all that time for MnM's goal. I get why they have to check, but it was clear from the very first still, he was just behind, not even level.

    Yet the VAR refs want to make the whole game about them.

    Why can't we go back to having Harrovian schoolmasters as unpaid refs that Big Tone's allowed to swear at?

    You have to bear in mind that each instance is different even if two are exactly the same. As witg all football rules, it isn't an exact science.

    With kicking the ball away, it's another of their 'clamp downs'. Last season it was time wasting. They sent off tomiyasu, made their point, and moved on. The season before it was only 3 players round the ref. They handed out a few cards for a few months and then gave up. Same with this. They made their point, and at our expense, as with last season.

    Witg your other questions, they'll be plenty of arseholes doing the rounds explaining why every decision was correct. I've stopped listening to it. It's all bull****.

    You're both spot on; none of us has ever understood it and it's all bull**** anyway.
    "Plenty of strikers can score goals," he said, gesturing to the famous old stands casting shadows around us.

    "But a lot have found it difficult wearing the number 9 shirt for The Arsenal."

    Am I getting senile/nostalgic?

    Cos I don't remember all this shît in the Highbury days. Some we won, some we lost, sometimes we chanted the referee's a wånker or who's the båstard in the black, but the rules sort of made sense and seemed the same for everybody.

    I just don't get it any more.
