Right. Told Hansie Cronje to get stuffed too.
"Plenty of strikers can score goals," he said, gesturing to the famous old stands casting shadows around us.

"But a lot have found it difficult wearing the number 9 shirt for The Arsenal."

Carse is a decent bat as well. Wouldn't bet on him though

    We've had some great players.

Yep, some player. One of those annoying batters that you just expected to make 60+ every time he came out to bat. Generally thought you needed to get everyone else out around him and leave him stranded.

One of the best overs ever bowled when you take into account the quality of the batter

I didn't know he was a lovely bloke.

I played with a few South Africans over the years and lovely isn't the word I would use to describe any of them. Terrifying would probably be more appropriate

Oh - I've quite a few Saffa friends, ****s to a man tbf but they are mostly rugby men. I met JK when he was a youngster at Middlesex - quite quiet. Shaun Pollock is also a nice guy

Spitting Image is all I'll say on the matter.

It wasn't so much that they were unpleasant. It was more a degree of aggression and total disregard for human life that made even the aussie lads look a bit uncomfortable.

The biggest ****ers I ever faced in cricket were all English

I suspect Allan Donald probably isn't a particularly nice bloke but I can't help but admire him.
