    Kai's pass on the floor to Leo for the 3rd...

    In the 88th minute.

    His goal was the finish of a pwoppa no.9 {like his headers are.}

    Last to score 7 on the trot at home was RVP apparently. I wonder what his {and are all time} record is?

    Whoda thunk he'd be doing this when he'd first joined us and looked like a poor-man's Fabio in the left inside forward role?

    Downsides:

    Jeez seems to have lost all confidence and unlike Kai last year and Gabby at the start of this season, we can't keep starting him until it comes good.

    Raheem's still learning to fit in - we've seen glimpses of what he can do, he was great in that cup game. He's an upgrade on Reiss, esp. cos MA has faith in him. But we looked so much better with the normal {sans-Ødin} forward line with Leo and Gabby.

    Other upsides:

    Merino looked decent {though thank Ganpati he didn't get a touch to Saka's cross when Gabby scored cos he was offside.} I can't wait to see how him and Dec play in MF with Kai-Leo and esp, when Ødin's back.

    Tomi being fit again. Remember how happy we were with him in his first season? How we felt we had a pwoppa RB again? With Benny Blanc and JT out, he fitted in perfectly comme toujours. Given he can play both sides {and CH} and Jakub can play CH and was fine as a non-inverting FB, if we had to lose a defender, I'd say ditch Zinny now.

    BW, JT and Cala can all invert. Jakob can play a normal FB. Tomi's a great RB and could probably invert if needed. And all are better defensively than Zinny.

    I don't remember when we ever had such good defensive options.

    Looked like GJ9 unbalanced the team imo.

    Much improved after the 2nd half substitutions.

    Saka was immense, again.

    Ramsdale class with The Arsenal fans at the end...

    Calafiori isn't the quickest. He got skinned outside again today. Needs to pay a bit more attention and give himself a yard. He hasn't really settled in properly yet but looks a fine player.

    Jesus is getting worse. His finishing sucks, always has done. Get the feeling he is too desperate to make an impression and it is affecting his decision making.

    I hope to god Arteta doesn't get the idea that Partey at right back works. It really doesn't. Defensively he isn't going to be able to cope if someone runs at him and he doesn't have the legs to go past Saka. At times we needed that in the first half.

    Their corner that hit the bar. Now THAT is what a foul on the keeper looks like.

    He was only playing there cos BW, JT and Tomi were out. Even if, Ganpati forbid, the first two are still not fit next game, we'll start Tomi who's never let us down as a FB on either side. Even remember his header when playing as an inverted LB for Kai's first assist. Looked behind him, saw he was covered and ran into the box to win the ball in the air and head it to Kai to lay off.

    That's 3 good choices at RB before we have TP5.

    Likewise we have Cala, JT, Kiwor and Tomi at LB before Zinny.

    I just want to see how Dec and Merino work together in MF. Just wish he was called Antonio, not Mikel.

    I like Jorginho in this type of game. Has a better creatuve passing range than our other midfielders.

    Calafoiri is a proper footballer, P. I've seen some ****e defenders in my time at the club (Vermaelen) but Calafiori is one to love, imo.

    Jesus always looks immense pre season and then falls off a cliff in September.
    Havertz goal proves beyond doubt that those confidence issues are a thing of the past. Excellent movement and really stuck his laces through it.
    Not sure what the end solution is for the back four.
    I still favour White at RB and Timber‘s pace at LB.
    The club should get Partey to sign a one year extension. Allowing him to walk for free is a sin.
    Would also have liked Arteta to be a bit more courageous with Nwaneri against poorer teams. Paying 32m for Merino has possibly created a problem.

    Mustafi....

    The Italian lad looks great but he is a bit... err, dramatic. He needs to calm down a bit. Just a little bit.

    Yeah, I thought Havertz took his goal beautifully. The way he shifted balance and let the ball run across him to make the angle. Superb.

    I love Jorgy, don't get me wrong. Incredibly intelligent player {as Gilby was but in a different way.}

    But I won't comment on whether he's a better passer than Merino until I've watched him for half a season. You may well be right, but I've never watched dago footie so can't pass judgement.

    Would be a bit unfair to slag him off when he's been injured and hasn't even started yet.
