Really wish we'd given ESR one more season

I do think we'll cope without Odegaard but would have been perfect opportunity for him. Pleased to see he's doing well at Fulham but he's far too good for them.

Not sure if loaning Vieira was a great idea either (not that he is amazing)

Getting shot of both always seemed daft.

I was surprised when Vieira went but I think (from what I've read) Arteta wants as lean a squad as possible and it opens up opportunities for young Ethan

I still can't quite get my head around the Sterling signing - just seemed to come out of nowhere. Not that I mind of course - be good to see him start tonight

Wasn't good enough for us and needs to play week in week out. Ethan Nwaneri is going to get his chance.

I think he just didn't trust Reiss Nelson and needed another option. With Vieira, I can only assume he didn't really trust him either. It is rotten luck all round. Odegaard has been pretty much ever present for two years and both Vieira and Smith Rowe have had virtually no opportunities. As soon as we let them both go Odegaard gets a 'significant' injury

It is a huge blow for us. If he is out for months (which seems likely) it is going to give us a real problem.

I have feeling Arteta isn't happy with the left hand side, it's something he's been looking at for the past few years with his Mudryk interest.
I think he likes certain parts of Martinelli and Trossard's game but not the full package. I don't think Sterling came as back up for Saka (Though can do it if needed)

You may well be right. I think with Sterling he saw the chance to bring in a player he knows well and admires for pennies on the dollar.

Whether it works or not, it seems a decent punt.

We’re also forgetting Merino. He would definitely be there to fill in the blanks if fit.

Whatever miniscule chance we might have had of winning the league was snuffed out when he rolled his ankle.
