Playing like a bunch of 'tards today.

I knew this style of performance would creep in if we lost to City during the FA Cup game.

Pathetic. No spine. Season falls apart from here, watch.

    It’s Jorginho’s fault.

Jinxed us signing another deadbeat Chelsea has been.

MORonS going on like he’s Vieira or something

Absolutely atrocious performance today. Zero, zero positives to take from that. Everton certainly got the new manager bounce and beat us far easier than City did. We could have played for another 10 hours and not have had a meaningful shot on goal. We just have to hope that such a dreadful showing doesn't have a psychological knock for the next game.

The only good bit was around 35 minutes when we just played keep ball and cut then open a couple of times.

Other than that it was just mindless chaos.

The big black lad looked pretty good. Everybody will be after him in the summer.

    Some positives / negatives now

    1. Turns out it was a missed opportunity but at least City burnt one of their remaining games.

    2. One game closer to further reinforcements coming back ie Jesus, ESR and Reiss (for some reason the latter seemed to know how to open up these sort of teams before he got injured).

    3. I get the feeling we might have been chancing Partey on Saturday and him coming off was evidence that all was not exactly right with him so he’s got another week to shake off whatever niggle he had or even start Jorginho vs Brentford….maybe stick the latter in an U23 game to get him up to speed or something.

    4. In terms of who can improve best following the 2 defeats…that would be us. Hopefully it was the kick up the backside everyone (even Arteta) needed that things won’t go your own way and you must adjust and grind out the win. City are relying heavily on certain individuals stepping up and bailing them out of trouble…there isn’t the same level of team play and togetherness like with us. Lord Kyle Walker looks completely shot to bits…his legs still work and he can play but he looks like he needs a mental break from all this now.

    Negatives…

That’s the 2nd goal in recent games we’ve conceded from a corner and it was another needless mistake…why was no one marking Tarkowski on the far post. The team need to sort this out asap imo.

And…United (regardless of how unlikely it is) are back in the title race conversation. At least for me they are…there’s no evidence to suggest they won’t go on another unbeaten run.

From a psychological perspective that has to be major damaging blow to City. We all expected after our pathetic Everton showing that they’d see blood and begin their usual 20 game winning run and close out the season winning the league 5 points clear. That City is gone now. They’re just a very good team now. This is their Ivan Drago moment where he was cut and shown not to be an invincible machine.

A lot of their elite top players are in their 30’s now and have probably dropped a slight percentage or two. Not much and noticeable to the naked eye but over a season it will show with points gained. We got very lucky with City’s transfer window. Amazingly they managed to weaken their squad. With extra cup games as while this can only help. True we’re in the UEFA cup but I expect us to rotate somewhat until in the semis. You’d expect them to have to go full strength every game.

A couple of big injuries to them and we could really run away with it.

Tarkowski was being marked, by Odegaard, but he was just too strong for him.

And this was helped by Doucoure holding Tequila down as he tried to jump and head the ball. A clear foul for me, but the type that is rarely given.
