I’m told from someone in racing...they tried really hard to run the race ‘behind closed doors’ but they couldn’t guarantee and cover the cost of security around the perimeter of Aintree because it’s normal for large groups to stand in the public fields nearby and watch the race for free.
So this is really a Scouse problem lol
