Tory win quite easily, SNP retake nearly all the Scottish seats, Brexit party actually hurts the Labour party more than the Tory party

That still probably won't stop Berni calling the BXP mongs.

Always a tough gig for Labour with their support split between metropolitan middle-class remainers and traditional working-class leavers. As it turns out (seemingly) rejecting any Brexit deal that doesn't include all of the benefits of EU membership is unrealistic and pretending that this election is not about Brexit is never going to fly either.

I can never work out how voting for whichever party fits in with your beliefs can cause some people to say it is a wasted vote.

I think it's an issue of logic.

The Brexit Party isn't going to win a majority in parliament. If you vote BXP in a marginal constituency and thereby enable Labour or the LibDems to win the seat, you're decreasing the likelihood of Brexit taking place.

    So you've just stiffed yourself

You assume a Brexit voter would be a Tory otherwise. A hell of a lot of Brexit voters will be ex Labour who could never vote Tory as they will be shat on from a great height by all the other policy's they have, so in effect they either vote Brexit or abstain

Indeed. Besides, both principled and tactical voting are legitimate decisions.

But if they're considering voting Brexit one must assume that their overwhelming concern is, to coin a phrase, 'get Brexit done'. Does it not, therefore, make sense for them to vote for the only party who will actually 'get Brexit done'?*

    (*Not that they will, mind.)

Unless you live in a marginal with a majority of one, every vote is wasted.

Also, every spoilt ballot paper has to be shown to every single candidate to see if they disagree. So if you write rude things on it, you can abuse them from the ballot box.

One ballot paper last time just had cünt written next to every name, except the Lab candidate's which had not a cünt written next to it.

Fair play to the Tories and other parties, all agreed that this should count as a vote for the Lab candidate and this was obviously what the voter wished to convey, even if he'd somehow misunderstood the 'put your cross in just one box' bit.
